Melinda is a freelance creative who has a range of expertise in Production and Performance in the TV and the Entertainment industry. With a willingness to inspire and keep connected to the community her creativity has extended to producing Stories from the Elders podcast to undergo an original platform in sharing the stories that come from our past generations.

Melinda’s inspiration stems all the way back to understanding her parents lineage as well as extending to the end of high school, where she worked in a nursing home. Her love for having conversations with the residence while keeping on duty, hearing the conversations they would talk about to each other, where their minds would drift off, filled her heart with appreciation. Some would have dementia and look for ways to get out, while others would reminisce and tell stories thinking they were back in time. Although a part of her felt sorry for them, she also gained much respect and an understanding of the aging process and the importance to hear and connect with the elderly.

Our elders can offer great knowledge and wisdom from their own life experience and lessons they’ve learnt. The also know how to have a laugh or say it how it is. This has forever stayed in Melinda’s memory and excited to keep this spirit alive with Stories from the Elders podcast.
